Dublin Port Riverfest 2017 is taking place on the River Liffey in Dublin City from Saturday 3rd of June to Monday the 5th of June.
This year Dublin Port Company and Dublin City Council have teamed up to make this festival one to remember. Adventure Training Ireland (ATI) are working as a partner of the event this year to bring the Liffey to life for the festival through activities, displays and attractions. This year there is a mission to connect the city to the Port and what better way to do it than use the Liffey that flows right through the heart of both?!
ATI are reaching out to clubs, organisations and water users in general with an open invite to get involved with Riverfest this year.
With a fleet of 6 Tall Ships and several other vessels for the festival arriving into Dublin Bay and up the Liffey on Friday afternoon, the 2nd of June, ATI are inviting any water users or boat owners that would like to join this fleet for a 'Sail In' to register their interest by e-mail. Vessels must be registered well in advance to ensure a safe passage through the Port together and up the Liffey. For more information or to register your interest please contact Donnchadh Mac Cobb on firstname.lastname@example.org.
With a host of displays and activities lined up for the main festival area between the Samuel Beckett and East Link bridges the Liffey will be truly animated during the festival hours and provide lots of entertainment for attendees.
Several sailing clubs will be running dinghy and keelboat racing fleets within the river over the weekend which will definitely make for some exciting racing to watch! If you think that your club or organisation could put on a race or display whether it be sailing, rowing or anything on the water that would entertain the crowds, ATI are inviting you to contact them by e-mail again to Donnchadh on email@example.com.
